The trainThe La Plagne and Paradiski resorts are not just for skiers and boarders, if you fancy a day off or perhaps are not into the usual snowsports, you may like to try one of the following. All the La Plagne resorts are linked via a regular bus service so all activities are easily accessible

Bobsleigh

Not for the faint hearted! The official course built for the Albertville Winter Olympics is at La Plagne 1800. There are three options, Bob Raft; Taxi Bob; or Mono Bob. You can book in resort or in advance, but be warned it is popular!

Paragliding

The ESF ski schools not only offer excellent tuition but also extra activities such as Paragliding. We think the tandem pleasure flights at Champagny en Vanoise are the best.

Handgliding

Available through Richard Yannick who is based in Montorlin

Snowshoeing

Snowshoe walks with a guide can be booked in Montchavin Les Coches. If you feel like venturing further afield there are some excellent trails at Champagny en Vanoise.

Ski HikingWinter walking trails

When the weather is sunny there is some fanastic scenery on offer. Take the pedestrian trail from La Plagne Centre to the Dou du Praz plateau, which offers a fabulous panoramic view over the Beaufortain and Mont Blanc. Picnic tables and a childrens sledging area are provided.

Ice climbing

Why not tackle La Tour de Glace (the Ice Tower), at 22 metres high it’s a fantastic challenge. La Tour de Glace is located at Champagny Le Haut

Iceskating

There is outdoor iceskating right on the doorstep at Montchavin

Sledging

Virtually all of the La Plagne resorts feature safe sledging areas and the resorts of Montchavin Les Coches are particularly family focussed

Dog sledging

Available at Plagne Montalbert

Health and fitness centre

Not just for the gym addicts, the Multi Sports Hall at Plagne Bellecote also features an indoor climbing wall

Swimming

There are various swimming pools throughout the resorts of La Plagne, try the 29°C heated outdoor pool at La Plagne Bellecote

Squash

Squash courts are available at Plagne 1800

Snowmobile circuit

There are several snowmobile circuits throughout the La Plagne resorts. Try Plagne Bellecote and La Plagne Centre

Quad biking on snow circuit

Available at La Belle Plagne and Aime La Plagne

Cinema

Cinemas are located at both Plagne Bellecote and La Plagne Centre

Library

You may just feel like putting your feet up on the balcony with a good read. You will find the library at La Plagne Centre

Bowling

Exercise those arms at the bowling alley in La Belle Plagne

Shopping

All the resorts are great for shopping, however if it’s snowing heavily you may like to head for the covered streets at Aime La Plagne and La Plagne Centre

Indoor craft classes

If you want to rest those weary legs and learn a new skill there are watercolour and antibatik classes available through the Tourist Bureau at Montchavin Les Coches

Local heritageHeritage discovery
